A new year has arrived. Each year comes like a new chance — a new beginning –a new start on life.
Each year, it seems as though I like to stay with the same ol’ same ol’ and am cool with not changing it – the same breakfast in the morning-every morning, the same schedule, the same same SAME! The same is good sometimes. Other times, you just need something different.
To lead a balanced life, I am realizing, I need to not be afraid to try something new. I want to open myself up and try new things. If I never try on that new style of jeans I see at the mall, how will I know how much I lost by not trying. I don’t want to miss out on the possibilities of life. Life is too short not to be enjoyed. Try that new fruit/vegetable a fellow blogger has discovered and loves. Try that new nail polish color. Try a new color on your wall. Try that new game everyone’s been talking about. Try that hobby your cousin adores, that sport your dad obsesses over, that musical instrument your sister devotes herself to. Give that book your mother has bugged you about reading by next week a try (love you momma dearest!). Try that new recipe you’ve been eyeing recently!!! — who knows, it may become you favorite.
These are some of the things I have tried recently and have fallen in love with:
I just tried Prickly Pear Fruit (those deep red ones — seeds and all — SO good!) I was hesitant at first, but it was love at first bite.
Pride and Prejudice – My mother had to literally force me to read it. I didn’t want to, but when I did — OH MY GOSH! I FELL IN LOVE (fyi, Darcy is MINE!!!! muhaha! lol).
For the very first time in my life, I ate Sushi (made with brown rice — added bonus) — YUMMERS!
I am now happily converted to Pizzerts!!!
‘“Never be afraid to try something new. Remember that a lone amateur built the Ark. A large group of professionals built the Titanic.” - Dave Barry
I need to have the courage to step out of my comfort zone and try some new things. A new year has arrived. It is a new chance. It is a new beginning. It is the start of something new.
