Bootylicious Blog Award + 28 Day Challenge

22 Apr

Hey my Cookies! :D

I’m glad that you enjoyed my Nutty Apple Spice Cookies! They are one of my favorites, haha, and I’m already on my second batch! :D

Also, Happy Earth Day!!! :D

Today I have an announcement for you.

But first things first! :D

The lovely (and bootylicious) Kaila and Mariah awarded me with this award that Carrie made herself! Thanks gals! :D

Ok, now what I have to do:

  1. Post this award with the picture and name whoever tagged you in it
  2. Do the STUFF
  3. Award to 7 others and tell them you did so!

And here’s the STUFF!

1. Name 3 things that are lying right next to you

My new Nancy Drew PC game!!!! I love these SO much! I now have ALL 23 of them, and I’ve conquered them all except this one!

This one is the REMASTERED Version of Secrets Can Kill.

These are mystery-logic games, and I love them SO much! I go crazy when I get a new one I haven’t conquered yet, so when I saw they had the latest one on Amazon, I was ESTACTIC!!! :D They can be frightening at times, but I LOVE them! I love being stumped by the puzzles and such. Here’s a list of all of the games – I have them all, and I love each and every one of them. :)

Second thing  — My new Camera!

I love that I can see myself  while I’m taking a picture. ;)

And Chip! :D

Yes, I know. That is what he thinks of Chemistry. ;)

2. Name 2 foods you cannot live without

Ummmm, definitely these.

and these.

3. Name 1 thing you did today

Today I started getting ready for my 28-Day DETOX CHALLENGE!

(picture from website)

Throughout this challenge, I will:

  • Discover which foods work best for your body — find that balance with your body.
  • Branch out with your cooking in a convenient way.
  • Break free of cravings — find balance with yourself
  • Find that lasting energy and happiness that’s you’ve been searching for.

What I like about this challenge was that it is all focused on the individual — focused on finding that balance with yourself–finding what works best for YOU!

Included in this Challenge is:

  • A weekly packet of recipes and food resources
  • Weekly group conference calls
  • A workbook for each group call, complete with worksheets and journaling opportunities
  • Access to an exclusive message board
  • An official challenge t-shirt (since post-challenge bragging rights are earned after completion). <—Haha, I love this! :)

What I like about this challenge is that this is NOT one of those CRAZY diets or anything – it is all about finding what works best for you. It is about finding what that Balanced Diet is for you.

If you think you’ve been struggling with gluten, you can check it out on this. Dairy — same thing. I found out that dairy bothered my stomach a while back, so I know the feeling of finally finding out the solution to the problem. Ever since I have cut dairy out, my stomach aches have gone with it. That balance with my body is what I strive for.

But not only will this challenge focus on the food aspect of balance, it will also focus on the balance in life – something I know I could do better in.

Because there is only a couple of weeks left until it starts, they’re offering a big 50% off discount to any of my readers who sign up and include my name (Kathleen from KatsHealthCorner) in the comments section of the Detox Challenge sign-up page.

TO CLARIFY —- THIS IS NOT A DIET!! IT IS REALLY A CHALLENGE TO SEE WHAT WORKS BEST FOR YOUR BODY —- YOURS AND YOURS ONLY!

I hope you guys join along with me. This is going to be a great opportunity for me to become more balanced in my life–which is what I’ve been striving for. I’ll be updating my progress as it goes throughout the challenge. If you have any questions about this challenge, you can ask them here.

Okie dokie, and the bootylicious people I’m passing this onto are some of the NEW blogs I’ve found.

Cait @ Beyond Bananas

Jackie @ Baking Charms

Tiffany @ Live Learn Love Eat

Lauren @ A Full Measure of Happiness

Anastasia @ Healthy Mama Info

Hannah @ Mind Running Wild

Jessica @ Clean Green Simple

Go check them out! :D

Do you like to play detective? Have you ever watched Murder She Wrote? Agatha Christi? Miss Marple? Sherlock Holmes? Have you ever read Nancy Drew? I love ALL of these. I love to play those games (like CLUE) and watch the Murder Mysteries — it’s something about being stumped at the problem, finding out the right info, and solving the crime that I enjoy so much.

What kind of camera do you have? I really want a DSLR, but I think that will have to wait for a while. Maybe after my birthday? :)

Are you doing anything for Earth Day?

  10. carlee April 22, 2011 at 1:52 pm #

I’ve been DYING to get a legit camera. Like the extra spendy ones! Like at like $1000! Yep:)

I’m thinking since my sister got a Taylor Guitar for her grad present I can get a camera! However thats not for another year!

  11. Emily Elizabeth @ Kisses for Breakfast April 22, 2011 at 2:00 pm #

I’m so excited you are doing the detox challenge! I’m doing it too and really look forward to it. I also am really working to find balance in my life – not just with food but with the whole big picture. I love doing Paige’s challenges – The weekly group calls really help me stay on track and its so much more fun to do this sort of thing with a group.

I used to love playing master detective clue – but haven’t played in ages. I look forward to when Annabelle is older and we can have family board game night! I definitely love all of the detective movies. There’s an old old series I like too called After the Thin Man – funny couple with a dog named Asta that solve crimes together.

I have a very nice camera that I am so thankful for. It’s a DSLR and its a Canon – but I don’t remember the details. ;)

We planted a tree in our backyard for Annabelle’s birthday so I’m going to go ahead and use that for Earth Day too!

Good luck with the detox! It’s so important to find out which foods make you feel fantastic and your 100% best :D

  17. Paije April 22, 2011 at 4:30 pm #

I don’t think I could live without your pizzert babies either!
That challenge looks so cool! I have been doing a cleanse/eliminating thang for 2 weeks now (no sugar, gluten, animal products) and it’s been awesome! I feel so much better!
I LOVE playing detective! I actually work for the city police so I get to be a bit of a detective! Loveeee!

  19. theflourishingfoodie April 22, 2011 at 9:25 pm #

That detox sounds really neat. Your new camera looks awesome :)

  20. Sweet Cheeks April 22, 2011 at 9:41 pm #

the detox challenge sounds great!! I have kind of been doing something similar, with finding which foods make me feel great and which ones don’t. I have really seen that dairy doesn’t agree with me anymore…and I feel so much better! good luck with it, girl, I’ll be interested to know how it goes!

    • katshealthcorner April 23, 2011 at 9:46 am #

I’m glad you are doing the same thing! I’m actually really doing this more for the recipes, the shirt, and the discussion. :) I’ve pretty much found what my body likes and dislikes.

  21. Mary @ Bites and Bliss April 23, 2011 at 8:46 am #

That camera is AWESOME!! I had to double take to make sure it was actually a little mini screen up front but that’s so cool!

    • katshealthcorner April 23, 2011 at 9:33 am #

Haha, me too! I still can’t believe that it has that screen on the front. I’m still adjusting to it though. I’m so used to my other camera, so that it’s a little hard to use this new one. To start with, it’s lighter than my other one, so balancing it and holding it still is difficult. But I’m working on it. :)

  22. Kate April 23, 2011 at 8:47 am #

Cant wait to hear about your detox I would totally join but im poor right bleehh :(

    • katshealthcorner April 23, 2011 at 9:31 am #

Hmmm, I think I said this wrong. It’s not really a detox so much as just finding those foods that work best for you. But thanks anyways! :D

  23. keepnthefaith April 23, 2011 at 9:32 am #

I used to have almost ALL the Nancy Drew books!! We had an old school book store downtown that I would go in each week and search and search until I found a new Nancy Drew that I didnt have. Loved them so much :)

  24. Alexandra (Veggin' Out in the Kitchen) April 23, 2011 at 5:01 pm #
