Cinnamon Roll Oatmeal!

22 Aug

Hey my Cinnamon Roll Swirls! :)

Thank you so much for all of your comments on my Friend Post. And also, thank you for all of your good wishes to my sister! She had such a fun time at her party and at her first dance — I can’t still barely believe that she is growing up so quickly!

What have I eaten every morning for the past while?

My Cinnamon Roll Oatmeal.

It is just SO GOOD!!!!!!!!!!

Cook your oats, water/milk, and vanilla. For me, it tastes about 1 minute and 25 seconds, but the time will vary. In these pictures, I am using oat bran., but usually I use rolled oats.

Add the cinnamon.

This is my cinnamon shaker — see its big holes? That’s what I use. One BAM of it. Though, I’d estimate it’s about a teaspoon or so.

Stir it in.

Top the oats with the vanilla protein powder — DON’T MIX IN. It is SO much better added right on top instead of being mixed all together (mixing it in loses the flavor of the vanilla slightly and changes the texture a little bit). But when it’s right on top, you get a bite of it each time you dig your spoon in! YUM!

Top with my Vanilla Spice Almond Butter and DIG IN!

Oh my gosh. This is the best bowl of oats I have EVER had! :D

Cinnamon Roll Oatmeal!

GLUTEN FREE, WHOLE GRAIN, VEGAN

Ingredients

  • 1/3-1/2 cup rolled oats, or oat bran, or even quick oats would work (preference) — make sure these are uncontaminated oats for true gluten-free
  • 2/3-1 cup water/milk (preference)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
  • spoonful(s) of my Vanilla Spice Almond Butter, or regular almond buttah would work too

Directions

Cook your oats, water/milk, and vanilla. For me, it tastes about 1 minute and 25 seconds, but the time will vary. Add the cinnamon. Stir it in.

Top the oats with the vanilla protein powder — DON’T MIX IN. It is SO much better added right on top instead of being mixed all together (you lose the flavor of the vanilla slightly and it changes the texture) — but when it’s right on top, you get a bite of it each time you dig your spoon in!

Then, top it with my Vanilla Spice Almond Butter. DIG IN!

printer-friendly version

When you use 1/3 of a cup, it’s more sticky-like in your mouth (which I adore — peanut butter kind of sticky :) ), and when you use 1/2 cup, it’s less sticky, but absolutely divine. :) Oh, and for extra yumminess, top with a sliced banana and chocolate chips! :D SO GOOD!

This is a one-way ticket to Heaven-In-A-Bowl. Every morning.

Do you like Oatmeal? I absolutely ADORE IT! I have it every morning because it is just so yummy!

What do you eat every morning? Oatmeal. Enough said. :)

Do you like Cinnamon Rolls? YES!

  11. Lenna (veganlenna) August 23, 2011 at 12:37 am #

Looks delicious! My cinnamon shaker has no holes in it, so I usually end up with circa half a cup of cinnamon in my oats instead of one teaspoon…but I don´t complain :) )
I cannot imagine life without oatmeal! It is just a must. Morning = oatmeal :)

  12. kerrycooks August 23, 2011 at 3:10 am #

We actually buy those cinnamon containers from Costco and dump them into this one. :) We just love it so much.

    • katshealthcorner August 25, 2011 at 4:49 pm #

I just use the one from Costco that comes in the BIG 6lb baggie. It’s really yummy. I think it is at Sam’s Club too. You should try it Erica — it is very yummy. :)

  36. Jess @ Healthy 'n Hungry August 29, 2011 at 11:05 am #

I tried this recipe this morning and OMG it was amazing!!! You’re a genius for just putting it on top – it tastes extra sweet & vanilla-y that way : )

  37. Healthy Mama September 9, 2011 at 2:25 pm #

What a great idea to use protein powder! I usually put almond pieces and raisins in my oatmeal for a similar taste, but your sounds better.
