What Kat Ate #5!

8 Feb

Hey my Beautiful Blueberry Honeysuckles! :D

Thanks for all of your comments on my Homemade Sun Butter. I’m so glad that so many of you are addicted to nut/seed butter as much as I am. He-he (*evil laugh*). jk!

Here’s another What Kat Ate! I love how Jen is making this a veggie-filled month of February!

BREAKFAST:

Protein oats (with soy nuts) with cocoa powder and cinnamon (so, pretty much my homemade protein powder, but not in crushed form) and a low sodium V8 on the side.

LUNCH:

Morningstar Grillers Chick’n with a flatout with my homemade sun butter and apricot preserves alongside a green smoothie (forgot the precise ingredients, but it had a non-dairy milk of some type with lots of kale, either a banana or an apple, and a few other ingredients).

SNACK:

Yep. Another Peanut Butter Banana (but this time with a sliced Kiwi).

DINNER:

A Veggie Delight from Subway (I had the 9 grain wheat with tomatoes, cucumbers, spinach, lettuce, olives, red onion, and bell peppers) with dark chocolate chips and almonds (unpictured) on the side for dessert. :D

………………………………………………………………………

Both Sarah and Julianna (along with many other lovely individuals) tagged me with the 11 Questions.

Here are the survey “rules”:

#1: You must post these rules.
#2: Each person must post 11 things about themselves on their blog.
#3: Answer the questions the tagger set for you in their post and create 11 new questions for the people you tag to answer.

  1. Are you a shoe or purse person (you have to pick one)? SHOE! I can get tired of purses easily, as while I’m shopping they get in the way. I still love purses and they are really cute, but I would probably use a cute pair of shoes more than a purse.
  2. What is your favorite book?
  3. What’s your favorite quote from a movie? Hmmm, I love Star Wars “Luke, I am your father;” How To Train A Dragon “Thank you for nothing/you useless reptile;” Scar’s first scene in The Lion King: “Life’s not fair, is it!? …”; “What is he doing? He’s expressing himself…” from The Seeker; the “Mrs. Darcy” scene at the end of the Keira Knightley Pride and Prejudice; and, ooopps! He-he, I guess that’s more than one. ;)
  4. Do you think you can dance? Ha-ha, yep! ;) I like to do ballroom. Not that I’ve taken lessons, but I always love learning whatever I can from my friends who take ballroom. I also really like line-dancing.
  5. Have you ever had a penpal? Yes I have! Well, she was more of an email-penpal, but I still keep up with her. :)
  6. Would you rather text or call? I usually just text since I have unlimited text, but I think calling is better when I can. If I had to put them in categories of good/better/or best, I’d say: text is good, calling is better, and in person is best.
  7. Which place in the world would you like to visit the most, and why? Egypt: because Cleopatra was such a strong woman (first Ptolemy ruler to actually learn the Egyptian language – and I do NOT believe she killed herself; Octavius must have had her killed. Why on earth would she leave her children unguarded??!!) and I have always loved learning about the ancient Egyptian culture.
  8. What were your career ambitions at age 9? To be a ballerina. Ha-ha, that did not happen.
  9. Who’s your favorite Spice Girl? I don’t even know WHO the Spice Girls are. Nutmeg is one of my favorite spices though. :)
  10. Dream kitchen or dream master suite? Dream Kitchen of course! ;)
  11. What’s your favorite salad ingredient? I really like chickpeas on my salads.

Questions to Answer:

  1. What is your biggest goal/dream right now?
  2. What is your favorite color?
  3. What’s your favorite kind of music?
  4. Do you have any fears or phobias?
  5. Do you like getting manicures?
  6. Favorite meal of the day?
  7. Would you ever wear bright pink toe-socks? ;)
  8. What’s your favorite color?
  9. What has been the best moment in your life so far?
  10. Chocolate or Peanut Butter?
  11. What time do you go to bed?

Bloggers I Tag with the questions:

  2. Danielle @ Sweetness Plus
  3. Sami @ Freckled Foodie
  4. Mary @ Fervent Foodie
  5. Whitney @ Vegan Sunshine
  6. Emily @ As Dreams Become Reality
  7. Chelsea @ One Healthy Munchkin
  8. Carlyn @ Not The Normal Teenage Fare
  9. Kayla @ Little Miss Healthify
  10. Mallory @ Have Your Cake
  11. Katie @ Chocolate Covered Katie

…………………………………………………

Would you wear bright pink toe-socks? I might if I was convinced to….

What are some of your favorite ways to add extra fruits and vegetables to your daily eats? I love to blend up greens in a smoothie, pill them up on sandwiches, sneak them into muffins,

Favorite food eaten today? Fave food pictured above? I’ve been loving my homemade sun butter – the jar is almost OIAJ worthy. Though, I also finished a jar of peanut butter yesterday and didn’t make it an OIAJ, so I guess it depends on my mood.

xoxox,

Hahaha I think there was a brief time in my life where I wanted to be a ballerina too ;)

    • KatsHealthCorner March 1, 2012 at 9:05 am #

What made you change your mind? For me it was when I found out that their toes bled.

  5. Jentry Nielsen February 8, 2012 at 1:14 pm #

One of my favorite eats is any nut butter on a banana, such a delicious feeling snack! Your breakfast oats look really delicious as well!
I too would go with shoes over a purse any day! I think they can make an outfit more than a purse can!

  6. Alexandra February 8, 2012 at 1:53 pm #

All of this fruit action is making me crave a smoothie! You always have the greatest eats girl!
Loved reading your answers too :)

I love peanut butter bananas! I just found you through WIAW and look forward to reading more! You had a very healthy eating day! (I really need to work on not using exclamation marks so much…)

    • KatsHealthCorner March 1, 2012 at 9:08 am #

Ha-ha, don’t worry, you’re not that alone; I should probably not use so many either. But I just love them!!!! :D

  8. Jenn L @ Peas and Crayons February 8, 2012 at 4:17 pm #

True Life: I LIVED off of veggie delight sandwiches in college. My roomie worked at subway and the smell of the lunch meat coming of her uniform helped me stay vegetarian for a long long time. lol! <3

    happy wiaw gorgeous!

    • KatsHealthCorner March 1, 2012 at 9:10 am #

The smell stuck to her clothing?! I never knew lunch meat had a smell……. I can see why you’d be vegetarian — I would have, too! :)

  9. Rach @ This Italian Family February 8, 2012 at 4:32 pm #

That veggie delight really does look delightful! :)

  10. Tara February 8, 2012 at 5:09 pm #

Your V8 reminds me of my Dad. He’s OBSESSED with that stuff! I love the pb and banana and kiwi for a snack! Looks like a delicious day of eats!

    • KatsHealthCorner March 1, 2012 at 9:11 am #

V8 isn’t my favorite, but I will drink it. I usually do it for the potassium in the low-sodium one. I can’t stand them every day, but once in a while I can handle them.

  11. Patty February 8, 2012 at 6:40 pm #

I bet your taste-buds are happy campers today :)

  12. Julianna @ Julianna Bananna February 8, 2012 at 7:27 pm #

mmm all your eats look yummy!!

i’d have to say my favorite way to get in veggies is to make a smoothie with spinach, have carrots with hummus, or make a ginormous size-of-my-head salad bowl :)

    happy WIAW!

    • KatsHealthCorner March 1, 2012 at 9:13 am #

Ooooohhhhhh, I would have to agree with your favorite ways to eat veggies: they sound delicious!

  13. Emily February 8, 2012 at 7:36 pm #

Aww! Thanks for the tag, girl. (:
To sneak in more fruits/veggies I love blending up green smoothies and, lately, I’ve been drinking a lot of green juices. Using my juicer that I got for Christmas is so much fun!
Other than that, I try to eat lots of raw fruits and veggies. ‘Cause they’re delicious and nutritious!

    • KatsHealthCorner March 1, 2012 at 9:29 am #

What are some of your favorite fruit/veggie combinations for juices?

  14. kat February 8, 2012 at 7:41 pm #

You are such a healthy eater! You seriously put me to shame :( . I love this post!! :)

  15. Kaila @healthyhelperblog! February 8, 2012 at 7:56 pm #

Never had kiwi with pb …but it definitely sounds good! PB is pretty much good with anything!!!

    Happy WIAW!!

  17. Jess @ Healthy 'n Hungry February 8, 2012 at 9:40 pm #

I love putting spinach in smoothies = yum!

  18. Chelsea @ One Healthy Munchkin February 9, 2012 at 11:15 am #

Thanks for the tag girl! :D

Ok I LOVE V8 juice but I find it so funny that you had it with breakfast. I can’t stomach the tomatoey/salty taste that early in the morning haha!

    • KatsHealthCorner March 1, 2012 at 9:32 am #

Yeah, I can’t stand it in the morning very often either — once in a while I’ll drink it (I practically have to chug it — I’m not the biggest fan of tomatoes unless their on a pizza or as spaghetti sauce or something; even tomatoes on salads and sandwiches are pushing the limit for me. I just prefer tomatoes cooked rather than raw!

  19. vegansunshine February 9, 2012 at 2:36 pm #

Awww thanks for the tag, I’ll have to fill it out later, can’t wait :P
Love your new photo by the way, you’re so pretty! :)

that kiwi looks so good!! have you ever tried eating it with the skin? its odd but really like it!

    • KatsHealthCorner February 10, 2012 at 7:54 am #

No, I haven’t tried it with the skin. Do you just slice it the same way and then eat it? or do you just bite right in?

      • Karina February 10, 2012 at 2:26 pm #

i actually like to peel the skin off and then eat it along with the sliced kiwi….so its like chewy fuzzy fruit chips! haha that sounds gross and weird but its good i swear!

        • KatsHealthCorner March 1, 2012 at 9:35 am #

Ok, I actually tried eating a kiwi with the peel ……. and I liked it! You can’t even tell that the skin is on it flavor-wise (it’s like when I eat the greens of the strawberries!). Thanks for the suggestion!

    your eats look amazing!!!!
i love the pb and nanner action :)
