Balance With Self · My Life

A Patriotic RED, WHITE, And BLUE.

The Flag — The Star Spangled Banner — Independence.

Oh, and Pancakes. 🙂

That is what I think of on the 4th of July.

The United States Revolutionary War era is my favorite time period to study in history.

I am especially grateful for our founding fathers who risked their lives for the freedom of all men. They knew they could be killed for signing the Declaration of Independence, but they did it anyway. They did it willingly. There was something of greater value — something they wanted most desperately — something they would gladly die for for us: our FREEDOM. Our founding fathers knew it was imperative, and so do we.

Just like our founding fathers before us in 1776, men and women today are fighting for that same freedom and for our rights and protection. They have left their families to serve their country. And there will still be many more who will follow in their footsteps.

Today we honor these men and women.

These heroic individuals are who we celebrate this day.

What they did — what they do.

A Patriotic Red, White, and Blue.

Happy 4th of July!

Enjoy the fireworks!

Enjoy your time with your family!

Oh, and enjoy some Pancakes. 😀

This is my favorite Pancake Recipe minus the Chocolate Chips; layered with Strawberries, Bananas, and Blueberries; and topped with Walnut Almond Butter. (The recipe will be next!)

What are you doing this 4th of July? We’re having a BBQ with some of our friends over. My Dad is grilling and I get to make the treat! I uh-DORE making treats!

Are you doing anything even if you don’t live in the USA? I made pancakes for my family this morning too. They love it when I make pancakes. 😀

  1. Happy 4th of July! It’s so weird to think about what happened this day in history.. it’s unbelievable, really. How many times in history do the underdogs win? It’s amazing.
We’re just chilling at home today! We’re not too big on holidays. It’s sort of just like any other weekend, but we might go see fireworks or something.

  2. Happy 4th, Kat!!!

I am having a HUGE party-friends and neighbors. Food, games, swimming, ping pong, and fireworks!

  3. Those pancakes look amazing. I love stacks of pancakes layered like they. they look so pretty!

  4. Love the patriotic pancakes! Have you ever seen 1776 the musical? It’s all about John Adams, the Continental Congress, and the creation/signing of the Declaration of Independence. I think you’d really enjoy it 🙂
