My Cellphone’s Screen Broke. Talk About Stress…. :/

This infograph above really resignated with me today. My life has been pretty stressful recently (as you’ll read below), but this infograph above reminded me the impact stress can have and some things I can do to manage it.

My phone’s touchscreen just cracked on the inside this evening. I went babysitting for an activity at my church, and as I was coming home I discovered that half of my screen was black and cracked inside (there’s no crack I can feel on the surface — I just see blue and green and red lines that look like scratches of chalk on a chalk board that covers half of my screen underneath. I literally almost cried when it happened, especially since I have NO idea how it happened. One minute it works like fine, and then the next it’s hurt — BAD.

I don’t want to lose everything that I have on my phone — it would take FOREVER to get it all back. That alone is stressful. The numbers, notes, alarms, etc! I WOULD cry if I lost everything on it — it would make it so hard for me to get everything done, especially since I have some things on there that I hold dear and haven’t had the chance to save other ways. And I just don’t like the fact that if someone needed to contact me in case of an emergency they wouldn’t be able. That is what really worries me. So far I can still call and text (kind of — it’s hard but do-able if needed). I’m going to leave my phone with my mom while I go babysitting (Thursday and Friday are my last days), and she’s going to take it to Sprint to see what they can do. Hopefully they can fix her. 😦

I’ll come back Saturday with an update on my life. I’ll also get a chance to catch up on your blogs and respond to emails, and hopefully get the chance to type up a few posts (like my bread, my review, my chocolate soynut butter, and my new recipe for grain-free almond butter chocolate chips cookies). And this next week I’m attending a family camp, so I’ll have pictures and stories and updates to share with you afterwards too!

As for questions:

What is one of your favorite things to do to unwind and have some “ME” time? I love to play this word game that’s on my mom’s iPad. I have 9 moves to use up as many of the orange tiles as I can (and get as many points as I can, as some of the tiles have special powers/doubling, tripling, quadrupling powers).

Do you prefer camping in tents or cabins? Cabins all the way for me — rocks and bumps can get pretty uncomfortable to sleep on with tents.

Have you ever cracked/broken your cellphone’s screen before? What did you do?? I’m still a little stunned right now. I wish it wouldn’t have happened right now and had waited a couple weeks when my life would have calmed down, but hopefully it all turns out all right in the end.

P.S. Also, thanks so much for all of your comments on my last post. I don’t think I’ve ever done a post that was as long as that one was, but I had a lot of fun in the process. I haven’t had much time to do much other then spend a little time with my family and head to bed (cuz’ I’m exhausted), so I will definitely get you caught up on things soon. πŸ™‚

  3. i hope that they can fix your phone for you!! and if they can’t, they might be able to salvage some contacts.

    whenever i’m stressed, usually it’s from having a lack of time to fit everything i need to fit in. so i usually just run. seems counterintuitive to spend time running that i could be spending getting stuff done, but it really helps me clear my mind, and then when i do start working, i’m much more productive! i also like to make healthy food to keep my energy up, talk to my mom, listen to happy & upbeat music, and snuggle with my kitties. haha πŸ™‚

    • Thanks Julianna! πŸ™‚ I totally get you in running to help you focus. I always find that sometimes when I’m stressed and have a lot to do, doing a workout helps me relieve some of that stress and makes it easier to focus on those things I need to get done that day. Hehe, and snuggling with kitties is always a good idea. πŸ˜‰
