About Kat

Welcome! My name is Kat, and I am a college graduate with my bachelor’s degree in Public Health with an emphasis in Nutrition. I am now a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES®), and I am currently focusing on supporting my husband through graduate school as we raise our young family. I love learning about child development, postpartum mental health, breastfeeding, and maternal health, as well as applying nutrition and health principles I have learned through my studies and employment.

My ultimate goal in Public Health someday would be to work with the Women, Infant, and Children (WIC) program, as I love the education and support the program provides to young families.

Fun facts about me: I love playing the piano, baking homemade bread, studying biochemistry and physiology, spending time with my family, serving others, and recognizing the hand of the Lord in my life.

I love the Lord, and I am grateful that He helped me learn Spanish while serving a full-time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I know the Lord lives. He loves us, hears our prayers, and is aware of each our needs.

I have had my own set of trials, but I am grateful for the journey I have crossed. Those trials have helped me become who I am today. I owe all I have become to my Heavenly Father. He has helped me overcome challenges, and I am grateful for the privilege to serve Him and those around me. (Read more about my journey on “My Story” page.)

Taking care of your body is one of the best investments you can make. I strive to stay active and fuel my body with nutrient-rich foods, focusing on wholesome, unprocessed foods. Follow me as I become a mother, strive to raise a healthy family, and grow closer to the Lord along the way. Life should be delicious AND nutritious! 🙂

  1. I also love playing piano. I’ve been playing since I was 4. I saw a piano at a music store, said I wanted one and my grandma said she’d buy it for me if I promised to take lessons and play for her. I upheld my promise and studied performance all through college.

  2. It’s such a good feeling seeing other people share same health interests!! Since i’ve started eating and living healthy I love it, wish I would have been informed of what i know now sooner!

I’ve recently started a health blog myself I’d like you to take a look at 🙂

    Hope it interests you!

  3. Hey Kat, I just stumbled across your blog and have been browsing some of your fantastic recipes! I just wanted to post a quick comment to say how much I have enjoyed reading them and it is self taught bakers like you that really inspire me to become a better baker. I was 15 when I started my blog and I really enjoy baking and cooking recipes and then trying to be original and make them my own so I will be definitely be trying some of yours in the near future! I would really appreciate it if you could have a quick browse through my blog as I would really love your opinion due to the fact that I have very little blogging and baking experience and would love the opinion of a more experienced blogger. Thank you! 🙂

    1. Hi Sarah! I’m so glad you like to bake as well! You’re doing great with your blog! I like the clean feel it has. Btw, your nutella brownies look and sound fabulous. What an easy yet delicious recipe! 🙂

Thanks so much for your sweet comments! ❤
