Hey my Absolutely Wonderful Almond Joys!
Thanks for all of your comments on my Carob Chia Pudding! Making pudding out of chia seeds is my favorite way to eat them – and I especially love how it really shows how powerful chias are!
Anastasia contacted me and wondered if I would like to review her YogaPulse series. I first knew Anastasia through her blog Healthy Mama Info, (you can learn more about her here) and when she asked me, I quickly accepted her offer.
Reshape your body, transform your life.
She sent me her complete set of DVDs to try and review, and I absolutely LOVE them!
(Disclaimer: I was not paid to review this DVD set. I received a free copy of YogaPulse provided by Anastasia for review purposes. Any related affiliates had no input in the content of this review.)
This is the best Yoga series I have ever tried. It’s great for all levels of yoga practitioners – just beginning, an intermediate, and a more advanced level.
Here’s what it’s all about.
The YogaPulse System includes six DVDs, a Positions Chart, a Grocery List, and a Getting Started Guide. All six DVDs are in this neat fold-out holder!
When you open the first flaps, you find discs 1 and 2.
Disc 1: Source – YogaPulse Source is the foundation for all other YogaPulse programs. Source helps you develop strong, beautiful legs and firm hips while helping you become calmer and happier. YogaPulse Source will thoroughly sculpt your lower body (45 minutes)
Disc 2: Core – YogaPulse Core builds a powerful center and develops the strong, lean, exquisite abs you have always wanted! Core can also help you find your inner center and better connect to your personal strength. YogaPulse Core will give you lean, sexy abs and improve your digestive system (45 minutes)
Then, as you open the left side, you find discs 3 and 4.
Disc 3: Heart – Once you feel strong and connected, it’s time for your inner radiance and happiness to shine through and touch everyone around you. YogaPulse Heart helps you develop a strong, muscular, flexible back and arms while improving your posture and allowing you to see the beauty around you. YogaPulse Heart will help you develop a beautiful chest and back, as well as a strong cardiovascular system (45 minutes)
Disc 4: Mind – YogaPulse Mind is the culmination of all Yoga Pulse programs. It helps you build a gorgeous, muscular, long, lean and flexible body while setting your mind and spirit free by stimulating your pulse zones. YogaPulse Mind will connect your mind, body and spirit (45 minutes)
And then, when you open the right flap, you find discs 5 and 6.
Disc 5: Dance – This 20-minute fat-burning program is designed to quickly jumpstart your metabolism and give you the energy you need. This quick weight-loss program is also a lot of fun! YogaPulse Dance will get your heart rate up and speed up your weight loss (45 minutes)
Disc 6: Take Ten – When you don’t have much time, but still want results, you can try YogaPulse Take Ten – three ten minute concentrated YogaPulse programs for your abs, legs and buns! YogaPulse Take Ten includes three concentrated programs, to help you create exquisite abs, legs and buns! (three 10 minute programs)
The way that the system works is that you start with Source (Disc 1), and then when you feel proficient, you move on to Core (Disc 2), and then Heart (Disc 3) and then Mind (Disc 4). Dance and Take Ten can be done at anytime, but it helps to do the other DVDs first, so you know the moves (as Dance goes through them pretty quickly without as much explanation as the first 4 DVDs).
The positions used in each DVD in this system are effective, simple, and fun, whether you are more advanced at yoga or have just started it for the first time! Throughout the workouts, she doesn’t speak (so as not to distract), but speaks as a narrator in a sense. I really like that about this program: the way she explains how to do each move, and the way she focuses on more than just the exercises but also on how they can help you find balance inside of yourself.
The program can really adapt to any yoga level, as Anastasia and her helpers shows three levels of difficulty: Beginner, Intermediate, and Advance.
The set also comes with The YogaPulse Positions Chart (this chart has most of the basic YogaPulse positions with photos and explanations to help you master the system easily; this is really helpful with just going through some of the poses you can expect with each of the DVDs),
And a Grocery List to help you get started.
This little booklet contains nutritional advice, information on certain foods corresponding to where they help in the body, principles of life and maintaining a healthy weight, the benefits of a vibrant diet, some special notes on certain types of food, and how to celebrate food and not be scared of it.
This guide is based on the principles of pulse zones. Originating in ancient yogic texts and Eastern medicine, pulse zones are seven specific areas of your body where your energy is highly concentrated. By stimulating these zones through eating specific foods in specific combinations, Anastasia’s Food Celebration helps you unlock normally stagnant energy in your body. Although it is very common, stagnant energy may cause aging, disease and weight gain. A more even and robust energy flow, achieved by following the recommendations of Food Celebration, increases your sense of overall wellbeing and helps you lose weight and achieve a deep sense of inner peace. Experience a total mind, body and spirit transformation by making the food you eat more in tune with who you are: peaceful, joyful and whole.
Some of the recipes that caught my eye included:
- Date and Banana Roll Ups
- Stuffed Acorn Squash
- Butternut Squash Soup
- Avocado Mayonnaise (its vegan!)
- Warm Lentil Salad
- Strawberry Spinach Almond Salad
- Tofu Scramble
- Homemade Muesli
- Almond, Walnut and Maple Granola
I love how she focuses on not only health with your body, but also with your mind and self. Other yoga programs I have tried don’t really do that so much. She also explains how the moves can benefit the body (like, help with digestion, focus, etc.). I love how the workouts don’t take a lot of time, so i can have the amazing benefits of yoga into every aspect of my life without investing a lot of time. I love how the moves are effective, simple and fun. BUT MOST ESPECIALLY, I love that Anastasia teaches you how to feel strong, connected, calm and flexible to discover your personal strengths in each workout.
I would absolutely recommend it to anyone – whether a beginner just getting started, a more intermediate who wants to improve a little on posture in yoga, or advanced who wants a challenge.
(I also get the honor to host a giveaway for one set of the YogaPulse program, which I will be doing within the next couple days, so stay tuned!)
Do you like yoga? I love how it really stretches my muscles and gets me all flexible!
Have you ever heard of YogaPulse? This is now my favorite Yoga series!
Do/Have any of you use(d) Google Reader? Having all of my blog subscriptions sent to my email has been a little stressful during the past few months (as it really piles up quickly and become a formidable mountain I sometimes are just afraid to try to conquer – so if I haven’t commented in the past while – you know why). I’ve been trying to transfer my subscriptions over to it, but I’m not quite sure how to comment via it. Help!
